The Reduced Time For Delhi Katra Expressway
Back in September 2021, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways announced that the Delhi Katra Expressway will finish in 2 years that is by 2023. The project cost is estimated to be Rs. 47,000 crores. A major portion of this money is going to be spent on acquiring the land and the other part will be spent on construction.
Right now, the distance between Delhi and Katra is 750 km. When this line gets operational, the distance will be cut down to 572 km. This is also going to significantly reduce the travel time. Right now, the time is 14 hours, it will be cut down to 6 hours.
Similarly, the distance between Delhi and Amritsar will be reduced to 405 km and the travelling time will see a reduction from 8 to 4 hours.
